The London Beer Competition only celebrated its second edition, buthas already gained international name and fame. But also less obviouscountries - such as Taiwan and Turkey – entered beers in an attemptto win medals.

Brewery Huyghe eventually won twice: Averbode Abbey beer won asilver medal in the category Strong Belgian Ale while Delirium Tremens won in the Strong Belgian Ale category (another silvermedal).

Lyon, world gastronomic capital

It is not the first time Huyghe wins at the Concours International de Lyon. In 2017 La Guillotine won a silver medal. 2 years later, Averbode Abbey beer is the winning beer . In the category "Haute Fermentation - Ale - Bitter Blond - Golden Ale", a silver medal was won.

3x silver in the past weeks, something which obviously pleases Alain De Laet, CEO of thebrewery: “We may have won many medals already, but every new award remains something to be proud of. Yet we raise the bar a little higher every day. We strive for topquality, not only in terms of taste, but also in the way our beers are made. We want tobecome the greenest brewer in Belgium, at the same time pay attention to diversity through social employment and, moreover, maint a good relationship with our neighbours. So we go for gold on all levels!”
