The World Championship Athletics is not the only place in London where medals are being awarded today. Also at the International Beer Challenge an international group have been competing against one another. And small Belgium also scored at this competition: brewery Huyghe brings home a silver medal for Delirium Tremens and a bronze medal for Delirium Red from London.
For more than 20 years the International Beer Challenge is regarded as one of the world's most renowned beer competitions and each year breweries anxiously await the jury's verdict. Brewery Huyghe was again present this year and just like the previous years the brewer from Melle could climb the podium: best seller Delirium Tremens won a silver medal, whereas Delirium Red was awarded with a bronze medal.
This brings the total number of medals won this year at an astonishing 12! Alain De Laet, CEO of the brewery, comments: "These competitions are certainly not our main goal, but every new medal gives our employees yet another pride boost. It demonstrates that despite the worldwide increase of Belgian-style beers, we still stand out and that the professional jury appreciates our craftsmanship."Overview
