Melle, 26 April 2016 – At the beginning of this month a jury composed of 76 beer experts gathered in Neustadt to test more than 700 beers out of over 22 countries at the Meiningers International Awards. Just like last year the Huyghe beers passed these tests with flying colours: the brewer from Melle won a gold medal with Delirium Tremens and a silver one with La Guillotine (the same result as last year).
Delirium Tremens, the brewery's masterpiece, keeps on winning awards. Over the past years, the beer of the pink elephant has won several awards and this tendency was confirmed once more at the Meiningers International Awards: in the category Belgian-Style Tripel the blond beer of 8.5% won a gold medal. And also la Guillotine scored: just like last year the beer was awarded a silver medal.
On a total of over 700 participating beers from all over the world, this is a great result for brewery Huyghe. Alain De Laet, CEO of the brewery, is pleased with the results: "Since a couple of years we have been focusing on our strategic brands, being Delirium Tremens, La Guillotine and Averbode abbey beer. That these brands continue to win awards pleases me utterly. It clearly shows that we have made the right choice by emphasising on these beers. We will continue to work hard year after year, and I am convinced that our trophy cabinet will even grow bigger."Overview
