4 new medals for Brewery Huyghe

Brewery Huyghe is still in the winning mood: at the Meininger's International Craft Beer Awards La Guillotine won a gold medal, while Delirium Tremens excelled with a platinum medal. And also at the Australian International Beer Awards the beer with the pink elephant was successful: a silver medal was won. The abbey beer Averbode won a gold medal in Australia. This means 4 extra medals for Huyghe in only a couple of weeks' time. This brings the annual total to 9 medals.

A jury of 90 beer experts in Germany tasted no less than 1100 beers during the 5th edition of the Meiningers International Craft Beer Award. And again, brewery Huyghe was in the winning camp: in the category Gold Pale/Blonde Strong Ale La Guillotine won a gold medal. Delirium Tremens however, did even better: a platinum medal was won in the category Tripel (Belgian Style). Which meant another 2 new medals for the brewer from Melle.

But also at the other side of the world Huyghe was successful: at the Australian International Beer Awards abbey beer Averbode won a gold medal in the category Best Belgian/French Style Ale. Delirium Tremens on the other hand won a silver medal in the category Best Specialty Beer.

Alain De Laet, CEO of the brewery, is a happy man: “While the list of medals might have become endless, we continue to be thrilled with every new reward for our beers. It is a kind of recognition for all our 56 employees who work very hard every day to put our independent, family brewery on the beer map. Al these awards will also help to realize my dream one day: to hand over a brewery with international name and fame, which is moreover financially healthy, to my son who represents the 5th generation of our family brewery."
