Given the tremendous success of the limited edition beer Deliria, brewery Huyghe has decided to brew the beer a third time in 2015. On 17 January 2015 an (inter)national group of women will roll up their sleeves to help brewing. The selected ladies will be brewing 500HL (against 450 HL last year), a part of which is destined for the export. On January 17, the brewery will also be hosting a free beer seminar. Enrolling for the seminar and/or beer brewing process runs through the websitewww.delirium.be.
For the third year in a row Brewery Huyghe is inviting beer-loving ladies from all over the world to help brewing Deliria, the little sister of the world famous Delirium Tremens. Deliria is a heavy blond beer of 8.5% ABV, very balanced with a fruity and flowery background and a first impression of chardonnay, that further evolves to a spicy, mild hop aroma. The feedback on the beer – both on a national and international level – is very positive. Deliria even received an Honourable Mention at the international beer competition Brussels Beer Challenge (Sept 2013).
And although the demand massively surpasses the offer, Alain De Laet, CEO of the brewery, is not planning to increase the volume: 'We want Deliria to remain an exclusive and limited edition beer, which is why the volume is relatively low. This year, we will reserve a larger section for export though. The brewing process is also reserved 'for the happy few'. Only a limited amount of women (15 max) will be able to participate and we are already receiving loads of entries. Which proves that also women are increasingly triggered and fascinated by beer brewing.'
Saying that only men can enjoy a good pint of beer, is a statement that could not be further away from reality. For this reason brewery Huyghe will be hosting a beer seminar, specifically aimed at women, on 17 January 2015 – the day Deliria will also be brewed. The seminar starts at 14h with an introduction on beer and beer brewing, followed by an extensive beer tasting session (with selected snacks). All the participating ladies will obviously also pay a visit to the brewery. Participating in the seminar is entirely free, but enrolling via the website is mandatory.
