At the beginning of each year the Province honours East-Flemish companies of exceptional merit. Early 2012 this honour was conferred upon Brewery Huyghe. It was governor André Denys who handed over the East-Flemish honour medal to CEO Alain De Laet. The brewery was praised because of the substantial growth they realized and the many beer prizes they won in 2011.
